In 2019-2020, general engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,873 and had an average of $20,557 in loans still to pay off.

Across Texas, there were 770 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,698 and $16,750 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 102 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,932 and $25,894 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general engineering programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Texas Christian University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Engineering for a Bachelor’s list. TCU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Fort Worth, Texas. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 45 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our texas bachelor’s degree vets studying engineering list, TCU has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Texas” ranking.Of the 11,379 students enrolled at Texas Christian University, 520 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 405 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $23,096. This large school is located in El Paso, Texas, and it awarded 7 bachelors’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

Baylor University is located in Waco, Texas and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 8 bachelors’s engineering degrees to qualified students.

Baylor also made our “Best General Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Texas” list, coming in at #1.Our most recent data shows that 876 of the 19,297 students enrolled at Baylor University were GI Bill® students, of which 593 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $17,744. In addition to receiving other benefits, 263 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
