In 2020-2021, 9,072 people earned their degree in industrial engineering, making the major the 87th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, industrial engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,960 and had an average of $24,268 in loans still to pay off.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Auburn University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for IE for a Doctorate list. Auburn is a public institution located in Auburn, Alabama. The school has a large population, and it awarded 9 doctorate’s degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Auburn, the school also landed the #5 spot in our “Best Industrial Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Auburn supports 30,737 students, and 1,499 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 746 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, this large public school awarded 17 diplomas to qualified doctorate’s IE students in 2020-2021.
NC State also made our “Best Industrial Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #4.Our most recent data shows that 1,102 of the 36,042 students enrolled at North Carolina State University were GI Bill® students, of which 493 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. University of Central Florida landed the #8 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for IE for a Doctorate ranking. UCF is located in Orlando, Florida and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 14 doctorate’s IE degrees to qualified students.
UCF not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #8 on our “Best Industrial Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 2,263 of the 71,881 students enrolled at University of Central Florida were GI Bill® students, of which 1,216 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
