Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus has taken the #1 spot in this year's mechanical engineering ranking for non-traditional students. Georgia Tech is a very large public school located in the city of Atlanta. Georgia Tech also took the #1 spot in our Best Colleges for Mechanical Engineering in the Southeast Region rankings.
The student loan default rate at Georgia Tech is lower than is typical, just 0.4% of students default in three years. 19,058 students at Georgia Tech are exclusively online. There are roughly 21,273 part time students in attendance at Georgia Tech.

Our rankings recognize Virginia Tech as the #2 school in this year's rankings. Virginia Tech is a very large public school located in the city of Blacksburg. Virginia Tech also made our Best Colleges for Mechanical Engineering in the Southeast Region list, coming in at #3.

Our rankings recognize North Carolina State University as the #4 school in this year's rankings. Located in the city of Raleigh, NC State is a public school with a fairly large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, NC State has also earned the #5 rank in our Best Colleges for Mechanical Engineering in the Southeast Region ranking.
