It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. At College Factual, we’re committed to helping you make that decision by providing information such as that found in our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Other Engineering” ranking.
In 2020-2021, 2,760 people earned their degree in other engineering, making the major the 177th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, other engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $75,713 and had an average of $25,106 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 540 other engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $75,839 and $22,500 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Other Engineering” ranking, we looked at 16 colleges that offer a degree in other engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great other engineering programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the other engineering program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Other Engineering. The University of Tennessee - Knoxville is a public institution located in Knoxville, Tennessee. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Virginia - Main Campus. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Other Engineering list. Charlottesville, Virginia is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s other engineering degrees to 37 students in 2020-2021.

North Carolina State University is a large public school situated in Raleigh, North Carolina. It awarded 5 ’s other engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
NC State did well in our major quality rankings, too. Auburn University came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Other Engineering ranking. Auburn University is a public institution located in Auburn, Alabama. The school has a large population, and it awarded 10 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a large public school situated in Charlotte, North Carolina. It awarded 5 ’s other engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
