Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus tops the 2021 list of our schools in the Southeast Region that are best for non-traditional engineering students. Located in the city of Atlanta, Georgia Tech is a public school with a very large student population. Georgia Tech did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our Best Colleges for Engineering in the Southeast Region list.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 0.4%. 19,058 students at Georgia Tech are exclusively online. There are roughly 21,273 part time students in attendance at Georgia Tech.

The #2 spot in this year's ranking belongs to North Carolina State University. NC State is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Raleigh. As a testament to the quality of education offered at NC State, the school also landed the #2 rank in our Best Colleges for Engineering in the Southeast Region ranking.
The student loan default rate at NC State is lower than is typical, just 1.0% of students default in three years. There are approximately 14,604 students at NC State that take at least one class online. 7,732 of NC State students are attending part time.

Located in the small suburb of Charlottesville, University of Virginia is a public college with a fairly large student population.
