With 198,468 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, engineering is the 7th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,653 and had an average of $23,855 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 23,446 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $69,300 and $23,146 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 15,001 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
