Engineering is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 7th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 198,468 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,653 and had an average of $23,855 in loans still to pay off.

Across Massachusetts, there were 9,729 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $78,261 and $24,434 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Engineering” ranking, we looked at 13 colleges that offer a degree in engineering. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality engineering programs as well as strong veteran support.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the engineering program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 13 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Engineering that were part of this year’s ranking, Massachusetts Institute of Technology landed the #1 spot on the list. This fairly large school is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and it awarded 1,143 ’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our massachusetts vets studying engineering list, Maritime has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 1,637 students enrolled at Maritime, 75 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. UMass Lowell is a fairly large public school situated in Lowell, Massachusetts. It awarded 1,001 ’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

Wentworth Institute of Technology landed the #8 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Engineering ranking. WIT is a small school located in Boston, Massachusetts that handed out 362 ’s engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
