General English Literature is the 24th most popular major in the country with 40,481 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general English literature graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $29,881 and had an average of $23,769 in loans still to pay off.

Across Florida, there were 1,767 general English literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $26,673 and $20,941 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,610 general English literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,395 and $25,950 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for English for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 13 colleges that offered a degree in general English literature. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general English literature programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

It placed #10 on our “Best General English Literature Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Florida” list.According to our most recent data, UWF supports 13,061 students, and 1,438 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 750 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
