In 2020-2021, 40,481 people earned their degree in general English literature, making the major the 24th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general English literature graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $29,881 and had an average of $23,769 in loans still to pay off.
Across Texas, there were 3,385 general English literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,529 and $21,847 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,965 general English literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,932 and $25,894 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for English for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 28 colleges that offered a degree in general English literature. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general English literature programs as well as strong veteran support.
