General English Literature is the 24th most popular major in the country with 40,481 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general English literature graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $29,881 and had an average of $23,769 in loans still to pay off.
Across Oregon, there were 400 general English literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,312 and $23,450 respectively.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Portland State University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for English list. Portland State University is a public institution located in Portland, Oregon. The school has a large population, and it awarded 115 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Oregon State University is located in Corvallis, Oregon and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 54 ’s English degrees to qualified students.
Oregon State not only placed well in this ranking. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Eastern Oregon University. The school came in at #4 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for English. Located in La Grande, Oregon, this small public school awarded 23 degrees to qualified ’s English students in 2020-2021.
EOU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, EOU supports 2,853 students, and 172 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 85 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,887. During this same period, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

University of Portland is a private not-for-profit institution located in Portland, Oregon. The school has a small population, and it awarded 16 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
University of Portland not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 3,999 students enrolled at University of Portland, 107 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Willamette University came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for English ranking. Willamette University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Salem, Oregon. The school has a small population, and it awarded 20 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our oregon vets studying english list, Willamette has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 38 of the 1,866 students enrolled at Willamette University were GI Bill® students, of which 21 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $22,172. On top of their other funding sources, 15 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
