You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend American University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in District of Columbia for Literature for a Bachelor’s list. Located in Washington, District of Columbia, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 22 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s literature students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at The American University, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Literature Bachelor’s Degree Schools in District of Columbia” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 613 of the 14,001 students enrolled at American University were GI Bill® students, of which 388 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $16,027. To help with additional expenses, 206 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
