Writing Studies is the 81st most popular major in the country with 12,529 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, writing studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,208 and had an average of $24,626 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 240 writing studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,806 and $19,336 respectively.

Top 3 Best Writing Studies Associate Degree Colleges for Veterans
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Liberty University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly for Writing for an Associate list. Liberty University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The school has a large population, and it awarded 8 associates’s degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our associate degree vets studying writing list, Liberty University has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best Writing Studies Associate Degree Schools” ranking.Of the 93,349 students enrolled at Liberty University, 13,282 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 8,897 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,888. In addition to receiving other benefits, 386 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Ferris State University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly for Writing for an Associate list. Ferris is a fairly large school located in Big Rapids, Michigan that handed out 5 associates’s writing degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our associate degree vets studying writing list, Ferris has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Writing Studies Associate Degree Schools” ranking.Among the 11,165 students enrolled at Ferris, 377 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 189 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,426. During this same period, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Ferris offers credit for military training for eligible students.

Full Sail University is a large private for-profit school situated in Winter Park, Florida. It awarded 41 associates’s writing degrees in 2020-2021.
