You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Virginia Tech. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value Nutrition Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Getting Aid. Located in Blacksburg, Virginia, this large public school awarded 283 diplomas to qualified ’s nutrition students in 2020-2021.
Virginia Tech also made our “Best Food, Nutrition & Related Services Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #1. It costs about $21,301 for southeast region nutrition students with aid per year to attend Virginia Tech.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 1.2%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%. Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 93%.

Out of the 14 schools in the Best Value Nutrition Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Getting Aid that were part of this year’s ranking, The University of Alabama landed the #2 spot on the list. The University of Alabama is a large public school situated in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It awarded 251 ’s nutrition degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UA, the school also landed the #2 spot in our “Best Food, Nutrition & Related Services Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. It costs about $20,917 for southeast region nutrition students with aid per year to attend The University of Alabama.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of 4.0% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 87%.

Winthrop University came in at #12 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Nutrition Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Getting Aid ranking. Rock Hill, South Carolina is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s nutrition degrees to 34 students in 2020-2021.
