Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Foreign Languages & Linguistics for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 33,333 people earned their degree in foreign languages and linguistics, making the major the 24th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, foreign languages and linguistics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,172 and had an average of $22,048 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 3,379 foreign languages and linguistics graduates with average earnings and debt of $30,341 and $19,976 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Foreign Languages & Linguistics for a Master’s” ranking analyzed 14 colleges that offered a degree in foreign languages and linguistics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent foreign languages and linguistics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Foreign Languages & Linguistics for a Master’s. Located in Tempe, Arizona, this large public school awarded 17 diplomas to qualified masters’s foreign languages and linguistics students in 2020-2021.
ASU - Tempe not only placed well in this ranking.
