In 2020-2021, 82,308 people earned their degree in allied health professions, making the major the 18th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, allied health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $53,436 and had an average of $20,148 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 11,824 allied health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,557 and $20,235 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,991 allied health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,077 and $19,490 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Allied Health for an Associate” ranking analyzed 109 colleges that offered a degree in allied health professions. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great allied health professions programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the allied health professions program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
