The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general health and wellness programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Top 10 Best General Health & Wellness Colleges for Veterans in the New England Region
Out of the 10 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Health and Wellness that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Rhode Island landed the #1 spot on the list. This fairly large school is located in Kingston, Rhode Island, and it awarded 149 ’s health and wellness degrees in 2020-2021.
URI not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, URI supports 17,649 students, and 381 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 187 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,022. To help with additional expenses, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. URI does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Vermont. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Health and Wellness list. UVM is a public institution located in Burlington, Vermont. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 56 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UVM, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 218 of the 13,292 students enrolled at University of Vermont were GI Bill® students, of which 142 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Castleton is a public institution located in Castleton, Vermont. The school has a small population, and it awarded 15 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Cambridge College is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Boston, Massachusetts. It awarded 3 ’s health and wellness degrees in 2020-2021.

GSC did well in our major quality rankings, too. Merrimack College came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Health and Wellness ranking. Merrimack is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in North Andover, Massachusetts. It awarded 22 ’s health and wellness degrees in 2020-2021.
Merrimack not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 72 of the 5,418 students enrolled at Merrimack were GI Bill® students, of which 39 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $15,794. To help with additional expenses, 11 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is located in Standish, Maine and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 11 ’s health and wellness degrees to qualified students.
