In 2020-2021, 2,089 people earned their degree in medical illustration and informatics, making the major the 193rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, medical illustration and informatics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,135 and had an average of $32,175 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 567 medical illustration and informatics graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,788 and $0 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Medical Illustration” ranking, we looked at 25 colleges that offer a degree in medical illustration and informatics. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great medical illustration and informatics programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the medical illustration and informatics program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

University of South Florida - Main Campus is a large school located in Tampa, Florida that handed out 82 ’s medical illustration degrees in 2020-2021.
