In 2020-2021, 322,592 nursing students received their degree, making the major the 3rd most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,916 and had an average of $25,426 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 14,673 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $79,068 and $26,724 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,275 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,618 and $16,599 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Nursing for an Associate” ranking analyzed 38 colleges that offered a degree in nursing. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great nursing programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
