In 2020-2021, 322,592 nursing students received their degree, making the major the 3rd most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,916 and had an average of $25,426 in loans still to pay off.

Across Missouri, there were 6,879 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $67,538 and $28,500 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Missouri for Nursing” ranking, we looked at 43 colleges that offer a degree in nursing. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great nursing programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the nursing program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
