It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Pharmacy for a Doctorate” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 20,393 people earned their degree in pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences, making the major the 53rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $95,543 and had an average of $23,251 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 1,961 pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $87,221 and $26,563 respectively.

Out of the 7 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Pharmacy for a Doctorate that were part of this year’s ranking, Northeastern University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 109 degrees to qualified doctorate’s pharmacy students in 2020-2021.
Northeastern also made our “Best Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #2.Our most recent data shows that 9 of the 22,905 students enrolled at Northeastern were GI Bill® students, of which 6 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $25,441. To help with additional expenses, 2 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.

The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Pharmacy for a Doctorate. University of Rhode Island is a public institution located in Kingston, Rhode Island. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 121 doctorate’s degrees in 2020-2021.
URI did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #3 on our “Best Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 381 of the 17,649 students enrolled at URI were GI Bill® students, of which 187 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,022. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. The school came in at #4 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Pharmacy for a Doctorate. Lowell, Massachusetts is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctorate’s pharmacy degrees to 3 students in 2020-2021.
UMass Lowell also took the #8 spot in our “Best Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 623 of the 18,150 students enrolled at UMass Lowell were GI Bill® students, of which 290 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,664. On top of their other funding sources, 29 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

This medium-sized school is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and it awarded 529 doctorate’s pharmacy degrees in 2020-2021.
MCPHS University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.Of the 7,501 students enrolled at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 16 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 7 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $26,279.
