In 2020-2021, 977,800 health professions students received their degree, making the major the 2nd most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,927 and had an average of $20,846 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 250,124 health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $44,702 and $20,498 respectively.

This year’s “Most Well Attended Health Professions Major in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 790 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in health professions. To top this list, a school must have a successful health professions program that graduates more students in the field than other colleges that offer the same major.
