This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Health Professions” ranking analyzed 114 colleges that offered a degree in health professions. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality health professions programs as well as strong veteran support.

UMass Dartmouth is a medium-sized school located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts that handed out 237 ’s health professions degrees in 2020-2021.

Southern Connecticut State University came in at #24 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Health Professions ranking. New Haven, Connecticut is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s health professions degrees to 361 students in 2020-2021.
SCSU did well in our major quality rankings, too. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,110. On top of their other funding sources, 1 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. With a ranking of #25, University of Vermont did quite well on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Health Professions list. University of Vermont is a fairly large school located in Burlington, Vermont that handed out 541 ’s health professions degrees in 2020-2021.
UVM also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Of the 13,292 students enrolled at UVM, 218 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 142 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,767. In addition to receiving other benefits, 19 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 85%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
