When it comes to popularity, a doctor's degree in
history sits in the middle of the road, ranking #19 out of 33 majors in the country. As such, the degree program isn't offered at every college in the United States, but there are schools that do have a program in the field that are top-notch when it comes to quality.
For its 2022 ranking, College Factual looked at 13 schools in the New England Region to determine which ones were the most popular for history students pursuing a doctor's degree. Combined, these schools handed out 77 doctor's degrees in history to qualified students.
