It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in Illinois for History” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 32,731 people earned their degree in history, making the major the 23rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, history graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,467 and had an average of $23,587 in loans still to pay off.
Across Illinois, there were 974 history graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,707 and $22,415 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Illinois for History” ranking looked at 11 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in history. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great history programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
