Located in the large suburb of Adelphi, UMGC is a public college with a fairly large student population. UMGC did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #5 on our Best Colleges for Legal Professions in the Middle Atlantic Region list.
The student loan default rate at UMGC is lower than is typical, just 1.2% of students default in three years. 47,272 of UMGC students are exclusively distance learners. 45,251 students are part time.

The American University is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Washington.
