Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent library and information science programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Located in Los Angeles, California, this large private not-for-profit school awarded 36 degrees to qualified masters’s library science students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at USC, the school also landed the #2 spot in our “Best Library & Information Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, University of Southern California supports 46,287 students, and 1,311 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 862 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $20,487. On top of their other funding sources, 388 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Library Science for a Master’s. This large school is located in Seattle, Washington, and it awarded 122 masters’s library science degrees in 2020-2021.

San Jose State University is located in San Jose, California and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 631 masters’s library science degrees to qualified students.
San Jose State also made our “Best Library & Information Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Far Western US Region” list, coming in at #1.Of the 36,208 students enrolled at San Jose State University, 660 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. University of Hawaii at Manoa is a fairly large public school situated in Honolulu, Hawaii. It awarded 11 masters’s library science degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our far western us region master’s degree vets studying library science list, UH Manoa has also earned the #4 rank in our “Best Library & Information Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Far Western US Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 3 of the 18,025 students enrolled at University of Hawaii at Manoa were GI Bill® students, of which 4 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $22,153. To help with additional expenses, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
