You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Carnegie Mellon University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for Mathematical Sciences for a Doctorate list. Carnegie Mellon University is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It awarded 7 doctorate’s mathematical sciences degrees in 2020-2021.

Carnegie Mellon also made our “Best General Mathematics Doctor’s Degree Schools in Pennsylvania” list, coming in at #1.Of the 13,519 students enrolled at Carnegie Mellon, 117 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. This large school is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 6 doctorate’s mathematical sciences degrees in 2020-2021.

Pitt did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best General Mathematics Doctor’s Degree Schools in Pennsylvania” list.Of the 32,277 students enrolled at Pitt, 509 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 364 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $16,281.
