At College Factual, we’re committed to helping you make that decision by providing information such as that found in our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Math” ranking.
In 2020-2021, 30,202 people earned their degree in mathematics, making the major the 35th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,168 and had an average of $21,863 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 1,031 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,035 and $24,439 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Math” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in mathematics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the mathematics program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 12 Best Mathematics Colleges for Veterans in the Rocky Mountains Region
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Colorado Boulder. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Math list. This large school is located in Boulder, Colorado, and it awarded 156 ’s math degrees in 2020-2021.
CU - Boulder also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Among the 37,437 students enrolled at CU - Boulder, 1,379 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 968 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,889. In addition to receiving other benefits, 46 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. CU - Boulder offers credit for military training for eligible students.
With a freshman retention rate of 85%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. This large school is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, and it awarded 79 ’s math degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our rocky mountains region vets studying math list, Colorado State has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,606 of the 32,428 students enrolled at Colorado State were GI Bill® students, of which 1,183 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $10,701. On top of their other funding sources, 68 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Bozeman, Montana is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s math degrees to 56 students in 2020-2021.
MSU Bozeman also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, MSU Bozeman supports 16,218 students, and 656 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 393 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,023. During this same period, 37 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. MSU Bozeman does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

University of Wyoming ranked #6 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Math list. UW is located in Laramie, Wyoming and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 21 ’s math degrees to qualified students.
UW not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 473 of the 11,829 students enrolled at University of Wyoming were GI Bill® students, of which 255 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $3,738. During this same period, 13 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Wyoming does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
