In 2020-2021, 30,202 people earned their degree in mathematics, making the major the 35th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,168 and had an average of $21,863 in loans still to pay off.
Across Florida, there were 591 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,866 and $18,213 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for Math” ranking analyzed 7 colleges that offered a degree in mathematics. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great mathematics programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 7 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for Math that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Florida landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Gainesville, Florida, this large public school handed out 135 diplomas to qualified ’s math students in 2020-2021.
UF not only placed well in this ranking. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend The University of West Florida. The school came in at #5 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Florida for Math. The University of West Florida is located in Pensacola, Florida and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 49 ’s math degrees to qualified students.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UWF, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,438 of the 13,061 students enrolled at The University of West Florida were GI Bill® students, of which 750 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
