Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Vehicle Repair” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is the 76th most popular major in the country with 56,539 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, vehicle maintenance and repair graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,763 and had an average of $13,320 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Far Western US region, there were 8,089 vehicle maintenance and repair graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,752 and $14,535 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Vehicle Repair” ranking looked at 14 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in vehicle maintenance and repair. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair programs as well as strong veteran support.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the vehicle maintenance and repair program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 14 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Vehicle Repair that were part of this year’s ranking, Honolulu Community College landed the #1 spot on the list. Honolulu Community College is a small public school situated in Honolulu, Hawaii. It awarded 37 ’s vehicle repair degrees in 2020-2021.
