When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Cognitive Science” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 2,776 people earned their degree in cognitive science, making the major the 172nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, cognitive science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $39,216 and had an average of $16,566 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 326 cognitive science graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,513 and $18,712 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Cognitive Science” ranking, we looked at 10 colleges that offer a degree in cognitive science. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality cognitive science programs as well as strong veteran support.

Top 10 Best Cognitive Science Colleges for Veterans in the Middle Atlantic Region
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Carnegie Mellon University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Cognitive Science. Carnegie Mellon is a fairly large school located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that handed out 20 ’s cognitive science degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our middle atlantic region vets studying cognitive science list, Carnegie Mellon has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 13,519 students enrolled at Carnegie Mellon, 117 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Rutgers New Brunswick is located in New Brunswick, New Jersey and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 46 ’s cognitive science degrees to qualified students.
