Top 5 Best Data Science Master’s Degree Colleges for Veterans
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Texas Tech University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly for Data Science for a Master’s list. Lubbock, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s data science degrees to 66 students in 2020-2021.
Texas Tech also made our “Best Data Science Master’s Degree Schools” list, coming in at #1.Of the 40,322 students enrolled at Texas Tech, 1,242 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 630 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,480. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Texas Tech offers credit for military training for eligible students.
With a freshman retention rate of 87%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly for Data Science for a Master’s. University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point is a medium-sized school located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin that handed out 11 masters’s data science degrees in 2020-2021.
UW - Stevens Point also took the #3 spot in our “Best Data Science Master’s Degree Schools” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 343 of the 8,302 students enrolled at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point were GI Bill® students, of which 129 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,195. To help with additional expenses, 2 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. The school came in at #3 for the Most Veteran Friendly for Data Science for a Master’s. Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, this fairly large public school handed out 2 degrees to qualified masters’s data science students in 2020-2021.
BGSU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #2 on our “Best Data Science Master’s Degree Schools” list.According to our most recent data, BGSU supports 18,142 students, and 577 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 258 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,808. On top of their other funding sources, 3 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. UW - Green Bay is a medium-sized school located in Green Bay, Wisconsin that handed out 13 masters’s data science degrees in 2020-2021.
