In 2020-2021, 2,233 people earned their degree in forestry, making the major the 189th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, forestry graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $38,829 and had an average of $21,444 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 161 forestry graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,843 and $15,765 respectively.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Forestry list. Pennsylvania College of Technology is a public institution located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The school has a small population, and it awarded 25 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Penn College did well in our major quality rankings, too. ESF is a small school located in Syracuse, New York that handed out 68 ’s forestry degrees in 2020-2021.
ESF also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, ESF supports 2,127 students, and 42 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 16 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
