Health & Physical Education is the 11th most popular major in the country with 64,869 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, health and physical education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $29,872 and had an average of $24,778 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 5,309 health and physical education graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Phys Ed Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 26 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in health and physical education. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent health and physical education programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Syracuse, New York is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s phys ed degrees to 13 students in 2019-2020.

Bob Jones University also took the #10 spot in our “Best Health & Physical Education Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $12,923 for Associate Degree Phys Ed students per year to attend Bob Jones University.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 86%. The low student loan default rate of 2.0% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
