Outdoor Education is the 313th most popular major in the country with 265 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, outdoor education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $27,786 and had an average of $18,614 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 78 outdoor education graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Outdoor Ed” ranking looked at 2 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in outdoor education. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality outdoor education programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Liberty University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Outdoor Ed list. Liberty University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The school has a large population, and it awarded 11 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southeast region vets studying outdoor ed list, Liberty University has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Liberty University supports 93,349 students, and 13,282 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 8,897 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,888. In addition to receiving other benefits, 386 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Located in Brevard, North Carolina, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 10 diplomas to qualified ’s outdoor ed students in 2020-2021.

Brevard College also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, Brevard College supports 828 students, and 30 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 11 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $14,701. On top of their other funding sources, 4 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
