Cosmetology is the 226th most popular major in the country with 107,895 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, cosmetology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $17,007 and had an average of $10,898 in loans still to pay off.
Across Texas, there were 10,777 cosmetology graduates with average earnings and debt of $16,249 and $10,168 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Cosmetology” ranking analyzed 7 colleges that offered a degree in cosmetology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent cosmetology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Houston Community College. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Cosmetology. Houston Community College is located in Houston, Texas and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 130 ’s cosmetology degrees to qualified students.

San Jacinto Community College is located in Pasadena, Texas and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 193 ’s cosmetology degrees to qualified students.
