Chemistry is the 51st most popular major in the country with 21,239 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, chemistry graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $40,656 and had an average of $22,680 in loans still to pay off.

Out of the 15 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Chemistry for a Doctorate that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Maryland - College Park landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Maryland - College Park is a large school located in College Park, Maryland that handed out 13 doctorate’s chemistry degrees in 2020-2021.
