When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. One of our goals at College Factual is to give you as much information as we can - such as our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Fire Science” ranking - to help you make that decision.
In 2020-2021, 8,102 people earned their degree in fire science, making the major the 266th most popular in the United States.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Fire Science” ranking, we looked at 14 colleges that offer a degree in fire science. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent fire science programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 14 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Fire Science that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Florida landed the #1 spot on the list. UF is a public institution located in Gainesville, Florida. The school has a large population, and it awarded 81 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
UF did well in our major quality rankings, too. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Fire Science list. Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It awarded 14 ’s fire science degrees in 2020-2021.

SAU Tech did well in our major quality rankings, too. Greenville Technical College ranked #9 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Fire Science list. Located in Greenville, South Carolina, this medium-sized public school awarded 3 degrees to qualified ’s fire science students in 2020-2021.
