General Psychology is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 4th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 141,695 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, general psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,326 and had an average of $26,018 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 31,121 general psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $28,351 and $27,529 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 28,653 general psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Psychology for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 217 colleges that offer a degree in general psychology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general psychology programs as well as strong veteran support.
