Economics is the 19th most popular major in the country with 49,055 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, economics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $48,736 and had an average of $22,046 in loans still to pay off.
Across Michigan, there were 1,496 economics graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,966 and $24,368 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Michigan for Economics” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in economics. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great economics programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Michigan for Economics that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Michigan - Ann Arbor is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 728 ’s economics degrees to qualified students.

Eastern Michigan is a fairly large public school situated in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It awarded 33 ’s economics degrees in 2020-2021.
