With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Social Sciences” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 18,997 people earned their degree in general social sciences, making the major the 54th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general social sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,991 and had an average of $24,438 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 486 general social sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,771 and $24,524 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Social Sciences” ranking looked at 7 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in general social sciences. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general social sciences programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Southern New Hampshire University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Social Sciences. SNHU is located in Manchester, New Hampshire and, has a large student population. Providence, Rhode Island is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s social sciences degrees to 15 students in 2020-2021.
