New York University tops the 2021 list of our schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that are best for non-traditional sociology students. Located in the city of New York, NYU is a private not-for-profit school with a very large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, NYU has also earned the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Sociology in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking.
About 0.8% of NYU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 21,614 students at NYU that take at least one class online. 8,829 of NYU students are attending part time.

Columbia University in the City of New York comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. Columbia is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of New York. Columbia did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our Best Colleges for Sociology in the Middle Atlantic Region list.

The #3 spot in this year's ranking belongs to Cornell University. Located in the city of Ithaca, Cornell is a private not-for-profit school with a very large student population. Cornell not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #2 on our Best Colleges for Sociology in the Middle Atlantic Region list.
