American Public University System tops the 2021 list of our schools in West Virginia that are best for non-traditional sociology students. Located in the fringe town of Charles Town, American Military University is a private for-profit school with a fairly large student population. American Military University did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #3 on our Best Colleges for Sociology in West Virginia list.

Shepherd University landed the #2 spot in our 2021 best sociology schools for non-traditional students. Shepherd University is a small public school located in the fringe town of Shepherdstown.
