Community Organization & Advocacy is the 169th most popular major in the country with 3,096 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, community organization and advocacy graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $38,265 and had an average of $26,263 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Plains States region, there were 179 community organization and advocacy graduates with average earnings and debt of $29,957 and $33,744 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent community organization and advocacy programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

This large school is located in Manhattan, Kansas, and it awarded 2 ’s community organization degrees in 2020-2021.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Des Moines Area Community College. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Community Organization. DMACC is a public institution located in Ankeny, Iowa. The school has a large population, and it awarded 21 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at DMACC, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 500 of the 23,051 students enrolled at Des Moines Area Community College were GI Bill® students, of which 221 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $2,709. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Out of the 6 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Community Organization that were part of this year’s ranking, Black Hills State University landed the #3 spot on the list. Spearfish, South Dakota is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s community organization degrees to 20 students in 2020-2021.
BHSU also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Among the 3,608 students enrolled at BHSU, 208 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 88 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $3,863. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. BHSU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Metropolitan State University. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Community Organization list. Metro State is a medium-sized public school situated in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It awarded 24 ’s community organization degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our plains states region vets studying community organization list, Metro State has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Metropolitan State University supports 7,552 students, and 257 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 157 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,216. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The private for-profit school handed out ’s community organization degrees to 96 students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our plains states region vets studying community organization list, Capella University has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Capella University supports 38,930 students, and 2,589 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 1,685 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,867. In addition to receiving other benefits, 4 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Capella University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
