Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Human Services” ranking is part of that endeavor.

Human Services is the 74th most popular major in the country with 13,238 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, human services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,839 and had an average of $30,553 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 982 human services graduates with average earnings and debt of $28,712 and $30,430 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Human Services” ranking, we looked at 19 colleges that offer a degree in human services. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent human services programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

OHIO Athens not only placed well in this ranking. Located in Chicago, Illinois, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 6 diplomas to qualified ’s human services students in 2020-2021.
