Human Services is the 74th most popular major in the country with 13,238 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, human services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,839 and had an average of $30,553 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 1,361 human services graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,236 and $27,488 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Human Services” ranking looked at 14 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in human services. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality human services programs as well as strong veteran support.

Out of the 14 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Human Services that were part of this year’s ranking, Southern New Hampshire University landed the #1 spot on the list. Northeastern is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Boston, Massachusetts. It awarded 17 ’s human services degrees in 2020-2021.
Northeastern not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, Northeastern supports 22,905 students, and 9 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 6 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
