It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Media Management” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
Arts & Media Management is the 136th most popular major in the country with 4,788 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, arts and media management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,900 and had an average of $25,520 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 317 arts and media management graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,893 and $21,833 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Media Management” ranking looked at 14 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in arts and media management. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great arts and media management programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the arts and media management program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Arizona State University - Tempe. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Media Management list. ASU - Tempe is located in Tempe, Arizona and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 9 ’s media management degrees to qualified students.
ASU - Tempe not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 74,795 students enrolled at ASU - Tempe, 7,566 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Media Management. Austin Community College District is a large public school situated in Austin, Texas. It awarded 69 ’s media management degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southwest region vets studying media management list, Austin Community College District has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 2,473 of the 39,896 students enrolled at Austin Community College District were GI Bill® students, of which 59 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. With a ranking of #7, Oklahoma City University did quite well on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Media Management list. OCU is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It awarded 5 ’s media management degrees in 2020-2021.
OCU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 2,617 students enrolled at OCU, 114 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Southern Methodist University ranked #8 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Media Management list. SMU is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Dallas, Texas. It awarded 21 ’s media management degrees in 2020-2021.
SMU also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 327 of the 12,373 students enrolled at Southern Methodist University were GI Bill® students, of which 215 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $15,612. On top of their other funding sources, 103 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
