Top 5 Best Illustration Colleges for Veterans in the Southeast Region
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Virginia Commonwealth University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Illustration list. VCU is a large public school situated in Richmond, Virginia. It awarded 111 ’s illustration degrees in 2020-2021.
VCU also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, VCU supports 29,070 students, and 1 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 2 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Out of the 5 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Illustration that were part of this year’s ranking, John Brown University landed the #2 spot on the list. Siloam Springs, Arkansas is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s illustration degrees to 12 students in 2020-2021.
JBU also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, John Brown University supports 2,343 students, and 56 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 44 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $11,115. During this same period, 8 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Ringling College is a private not-for-profit institution located in Sarasota, Florida. The school has a small population, and it awarded 90 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Ringling College also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Of the 1,624 students enrolled at Ringling College, 83 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. The school came in at #4 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Illustration. This fairly large school is located in Savannah, Georgia, and it awarded 363 ’s illustration degrees in 2020-2021.
SCAD did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 193 of the 14,265 students enrolled at Savannah College of Art and Design were GI Bill® students, of which 135 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $20,695. During this same period, 91 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.

In addition to being on our southeast region vets studying illustration list, Nossi College of Art has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 289 students enrolled at Nossi College of Art, 27 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 21 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $13,037. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 87%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. With a undergrad student-to-faculty ratio of 8 to 1, it’s easy to see that the school is committed to helping their undergraduates succeed.
