In 2019-2020, design and applied arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,426 and had an average of $25,481 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 7,125 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,489 and $23,859 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,040 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,164 and $17,633 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Design for an Associate” ranking looked at 24 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in design and applied arts. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent design and applied arts programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the design and applied arts program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

New York, New York is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out associates’s design degrees to 128 students in 2020-2021.

New School University also took the #1 spot in our “Best Design & Applied Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking.Of the 9,047 students enrolled at The New School, 117 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
