Design & Applied Arts is the 36th most popular major in the country with 36,301 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, design and applied arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,426 and had an average of $25,481 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 8,508 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,342 and $26,806 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,332 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,328 and $20,384 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Design for an Associate” ranking looked at 14 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in design and applied arts. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality design and applied arts programs as well as strong veteran support.

Out of the 14 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Design for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale landed the #1 spot on the list. Full Sail University came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Design for an Associate ranking. Located in Winter Park, Florida, this large private for-profit school awarded 89 degrees to qualified associates’s design students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southeast region associate degree vets studying design list, Full Sail University has also earned the #12 rank in our “Best Design & Applied Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Full Sail University supports 24,627 students, and 4,199 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 3,206 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
